John Tregembo
I was born and grew up in Padstow, North Cornwall and as such have been heavily influenced by the sea and coastline where i live. My work is about the movement and power of the sea but also the moods of the ocean. I am constantly experimenting with different media, as such my images evolve from a starting point where i put paint to canvas and interpret what i am trying to portray over the session, often my work can take a very long time to complete as I continue to experiment with capturing a movement or geographical location without the need to be precise and accurate with actual details, I feel that my motive is strongly about the power and emotional response we can all experience when encountering a wild and dangerous ocean but also this can be tempered with happy memories of seaside holidays. I was accepted for a Fine art Degree at Anglia Ruskin University,Cambridge but due to personal circumstances i dropped out,Although not classically trained, I have been painting all my life and have gained both a loyal client base and a good degree of competence over that time,(I Hope ). This is not to say that i feel i have learnt my craft completely. I am always learning and will never, I feel, be able to stop learning as I strive to create new images. My work has been graciously received in Cornwall and Cambridge and I have a good relationship with several galleries. Please contact me if you have any special requests or would like to know more about me and my work. I am also very glad to discuss a commissioned piece. Thank you for your interest and happy browsing. Now completing final year BA Fine Art at London Metropolitan University
