My love affair with art began many years ago when I was on top of Table Mountain, South Africa. I was so completely over-awed by the magnificent view of Cape Town and Lion Mountain that I started to sketch on a scrap of paper and never looked back. I spent three years working and studying with famous and established artists around the world. In India I was able to work with Subodh Kerkar in Goa. He is a well known installation artist with galleries in Mumbai, Calcutta and Goa). With their tutoring and guidance I came to respect all types of art, and to understand that art is purely a personal point of view upon a certain subject. I learnt to love the wild curves and colour of nature and to appreciate all the animals I saw when working on safari in South Africa with their massive forms and especially the elephants which I love to paint and people love to buy. However in Brazil where I was doing charity work as well as following my art program I found the spiritual energy of the country side with the huge butterflies and tiny humming birds that were out of this world. To all artistic people this is the epitome of the word ART. My favorite medium is oil or acrylic on canvas and my preferred subjects are various. Animals with attitude, birds, local views -- especially spooky trees, rising moons etc.

Artwork

I wanted a small piece of artwork in a "golden colour" to compliment a much larger piece. The Golden Tree proved to be ideal. It is really lovely and more suitable than I thought it would be.
