Jane began to attend an art class to accompany a friend many years ago. She had absolutely no expectations of herself, having been told at the age of 13 that her style was formulaic and it was not worth continuing with art as a subject at school! Steph at "Art 4 the Terrified" convinced her that her work had some worth and encouraged her to begin to develop her own style and to experiment with different media and subjects. She now has the confidence to exhibit and as a result has begun to sell some of her work locally. Jane still regularly attends art classes locally and finds the challenge of trying new techniques and materials provides opportunities to continue to develop. Now retired she has more time to put into developing her portfolio. Jane is also a self taught photographer. Often her photographs provide the inspiration for paintings.
