I started painting over 20 years ago, exploring and experimenting with various mediums and styles of painting, After a career in the aviation industry, I now have more time to devote to my art. My artistic influences have come mainly from the early impressionist movement of the 19th century. As an impressionist painter, I seek to combine the physicality of what I see with my own emotional response to the subjects that I paint, which are mainly figurative, cityscapes and nostalgic art. But I also sometimes explore the concept of abstraction. Often a narrative theme is explored. My creative process has been informed by my travels to different parts of the world, from the quiet contemplative parts of the city to the bustling life and colour of Times Square or Piccadilly.
