From an early age, I loved painting. After an art foundation course at the age of seventeen years old, I studied for three years at Preston Polytechnic and gained a B.A Hons. in Fine Art. Following this, I spent time in London and sold work from my local gallery in Wandsworth. On moving back to the north, I continued to paint as a hobby while my family were growing. My favoured medium is oil and I have had success painting both rural scenes, figurative and still life studies in a romantic style. Capturing the nuances of light on different textures and materials has become the main focus of my work. Each painting, for me is a voyage of discovery and I continue to learn with each composition. I am now fortunate to be able to dedicate my time fully to my art and cherish the fulfilment this brings. Creating paintings that others enjoy gives me immense satisfaction.
