Apart from an 'A' level in Art, Elizabeth is self-taught. She has painted throughout her life on a daily basis and it is a source of joy and constant exploration for her. The passion she feels for her work is expressed in her diverse subject matter and use of vibrant colours. Growing up in a small village in Cambridgeshire she spent long days walking and cycling out in the fields and lanes, observing the nuances of the very rural and rather wild world she inhabited. Elizabeth graduated with an LLB honours Law degree in London, 1979-82, where she spent time in galleries, attending expos, and enjoying the buzz of the city. Emigrating to Seychelles in 1983 she embarked on a career in art by default as the post she had been promised did not in fact exist! Elizabeth had her first one-man expo of botanical work at Alliance Francais in 1985.followed by another in 1991 also participating in many other expos on the island. She had her own gallery on the island of Mahe and exhibited weekly in many of the top hotels, as well as running a farm and bringing up her two sons. Elizabeth exhibited and sold botanical watercolours through Liberty's, London in 1986, at a Parallax Art Fair in Chelsea, London 2016 as well as in a Paris Gallery in the '90s She has had many patrons from various Arab State Royal Families as well as extensive sales worldwide, particularly Russia, Czechoslovakia, France, & Germany. Recently her work inspired a large glass mural for the newly opened H Resort in Seychelles. Elizabeth returned to live in the Fens again in 2014 and draw inspiration from her walks and travels around GB and travels abroad. Work is on exhibition and sale in the prestigious Eden Gallery on Eden Island in Seychelles. Aldabra Clean Up Project featured as part of Ocean Rescue printed a painting done for the expedition on their Expedition tee-shirt 'My love affair with painting sustains and nurtures my spirit daily. I attempt to hone and develop my techniques every time I engage with my work, using space to create harmony between objects. The meditative synchronicity that evolves as I paint allows me to do my most intuitive work.'
