Shortly after leaving Newcastle in the early Eighties and settling in the south east I took up painting. I am predominantly self-taught artist and have used many mediums but mainly like to play with acrylic and mixed media because of the freedom they give. Painting is in my soul a passion and I would love to paint professionally - one day! My work has sold in local and private exhibitions. The flamingo paintings in particular sell abroad and I created a small selection of silly cards for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. For a number of years I taught children’s weekly art classes and you certainly get to see things on a completely different perspective.... such a shame we have to grow up! The children were entertaining to say the least. They are not bound by the restraints of adulthood and their work and my time with them was fun and they created some pretty amazing stuff. If you have any questions I am always happy to help or if you would like to see further work-pieces then that too can be arranged by email to me at artgallery.co.uk.
