! was born in Hackney, East London in 1960. I went to a local comprehensive school and then took an Art Foundation course at the then renowned Hornsey College of Art in Crouch End, North London. After deciding to be a designer, I studied at Middlesex University and took an honours degree in Graphic Design. During my three years at Middlesex, I focussed on illustration and printmaking, continuing these after leaving. I have been a freelance illustrator since then and work under a different name. In my paintings, water is a recurring theme and I love the challenge of trying to convey movement and reflections with paint. I am currently trying to build up a body of portraits and still-lifes as these are very difficult to get right, but also extremely satisfying to do, when they're done well!
