I am a self taught artist who took up painting seriously only about ten years ago, although it is something that I have been doing on and of most of my life. I spend much of my time on my Narrow boat which is ideal for gaining the inspiration that I need for a lot of my landscape paintings, what better place to be to observe nature at first hand in all its ever changing moods. I cover a wide range of subjects, including nudes, landscapes, pets, canal scenes and even a small amount of fantasy art. I like the variety of painting different subjects, I think it is a good way to keep your art interesting and stop becoming stagnant and fixated on one style or subject matter. I paint mostly in acrylic, I like the speed that this medium allows when working but I also do the occasional watercolour and oil.

Artwork

A modern classic or classically modern. You can practically smell wet dog and get a sense of their frustration and bewilderment. Beautifully executed and a real gem of a painting.
