I'm Claudia. Just Claudia. There's no fancy title going with it, no educational achievement worth telling (unless you count the time I flustered my Latin teacher so much he sent me out to count the bicycles chained up at the school - 278!). I'm many things. A single mum to 2 utterly amazing girls, a plumber/joiner/chef/maid/chauffeur. A daughter/waitress/wild child tamer... Most importantly though, I am an artist - a bestselling one at that. I have exhibited at the Lillie Art Gallery in Glasgow and recently won the Flora Wood Art Award. Having taken some time off to.. well, really to get to grips with the “single” bit in “single mum” I am now bursting with creativity and ideas and I feel my work has certainly grown in sophistication alongside my taking this very personal journey. Let me tell you though, I think I am a bit different. I have not been to art school. I cannot draw a thing for the life of me and I do not plan the outcome of my work. I am unable to repeat the same thing twice and anything that doesn’t come from the heart (and the heart only) is destined to fail when it comes to my abstracts. My art is purely emotive. It mirrors everything that affects me, from “a bad day at work” to a song stuck in my head. I draw on personal memories as much as personal worries and growth. When it comes to commissions, that attitude serves me well as you can see below. My art is unique and it will not sit well with everyone. But I have finally come to the conclusion that that’s just fine and I cannot wait to see where this new road will take me and how my work will respond to it. As a mixed media artist, I use mainly oil and acrylics. Often ink, pastels, chalk, spray paint and metallic leaf as well as various other bits and pieces. There might be actual metal and glue, pieces of felt, wax or flowers, rain drops, overnight frost, torch burnt areas, some sewing or leather work... Basically, anything and everything I can get my hands on. Please look through my gallery, get in touch if you have any questions and if you really like something - go for it! I hope it’ll bring you as much pleasure as it brings me.

Artwork

A new addition to my collection by this artist. Enigmatic, romantic and a little magic.
I think it is my favourite so far.
It benefits from the white framing - now used for all my painting by the artist.
I suspect there will be more on my walls.

Artwork

A soft painting from this talented artist. The third I've bought.

A recent visit to Venice had me redecorate in white to make these modern pieces pop.

I have my eye on another of her works - if allowed.

I've never bought original art before. I was browsing and 'Consider' made me stop in my tracks and stare. I kept coming back just to look. There's such a nice feeling in this painting, in the colours. I also saw something very personal - the memory of our balcony view in Barcelona, our long blue curtains, our patient black cat. All of these memories leapt out at me in my perception of the features. We have recently returned from a crazy two year stay and getting ourselves back to the UK and int
