Since as far back as I can remember I have always loved creating art. As a child encouraged by my parents, my days were spent drawing and painting and I always had a pencil or paintbrush in my hand. Being creative and painting is a big part of my life and I still get a buzz. I often get drawn into a painting, spending days adding layer of colour until I create an effect and style I feel happy with. I enjoy paintings on a large scale the best, using a number of different techniques building up layers and washers of bold colour. Starting with a general idea or inspiration I enjoy watch each painting evolve, seeing how the strong bold washes of colours merge with each other to form interesting small detail within the painting. Throughout all my work there is a core element of vibrant colour, bold shapes and intricate detail inspired by both the everyday my local environment on the North East coast and my love of modern art. Art is a big part of my life, and I count myself lucky to have maintained a successful career in the art and design world, working as a Graphic Designer, and for the last nine years also as a professional artist. Over the last few years I have created many paintings and commissions for private individuals and businesses.
