Andrew Dibben studied Fine Art at Norwich School of Art, gaining the Diploma in Art & Design in 1972, and became a full-time professional artist in 1989. He works in watercolour, oil, charcoal, and pastel. Over the last 20 years, the artist’s work has varied from very detailed topographical views of Norfolk, to expansive paintings of the wilder parts of the country, verging on abstraction at times. Recently, he has been working on a series of imaginary landscapes with an ‘other-worldly’ look. A number of the artist’s paintings have been published as prints, which, together with originals, have sold in 30 countries worldwide. He has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, The Mall Galleries, London, the Society of Graphic Fine Arts, the Institute of East Anglian Artists, and in the Laing Competition. P&O Cruises and Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines count among his major clients. The book “Andrew Dibben’s Norfolk Watercolour Landscapes”, with a foreword by Dame Norma Major, was published to great acclaim by Halsgrove in 2002, and was reprinted a year later. A second volume, from the same publisher, “Norfolk Waterscapes” was published at the end of October 2005. He has had paintings reproduced in the periodical “International Artist”, and in books published by them, and has staged one-man exhibitions in Britain and in France. Dibben was a finalist in a landscape competition run by the magazine “International Artist”, which subsequently published an 8-page feature on his work in the Dec 2008 / Jan 2009 issue.
