First a play on the title of the composition: vanishing point. The vanishing point is in a representation the point where lines meet to infinity in front of the observer: vanishing lines. The point that the young brunette has on her arm makes any escape impossible. And on the vanishing line, to the right of the composition, is a blonde woman whose escape is also impossible. Without having recourse to the reading of the title one sees two women locked up. Suffering is not really visible either in the first or in the second, but the impossibility of escape is very real in both cases. It is likely that Escher's impossible cube inspired me. I adapted it to the idea of confinement accepted by some reassuring aspects too. This is my composition grid but its interest lies in the fact that each collector projects his own universe.
