This painting was created by allowing ink and paint to flow and swirl together, all I did was direct the flow of the paint to create the wave shape. I was fascinated by how some of the colours refused to mix when they met on the canvas, but instead created a beautiful swirling pattern, which in my opinion perfectly reflects the free movement of waves. Once the paint and ink had dried, I speckled on top white paint to suggest the froth and chaos of the wave. This is one of my more abstract paintings as I don't think it is immediately clear it is a painting of a wave, however I very much enjoyed creating this painting and finding new techniques of painting the sea. During GCSE and A-Level Art I explored different styles and forms of art, but found that I always came back to painting something in particular: seascapes. I find the sea captivating, and enjoy portraying the movement and energy of it in...
