This is one of my favourite hills in the north west of Scotland and whenever I visit the area I always come away with ideas for a painting of Stac Pollaidh. This painting combines the distinctive shape of the hill with a very abstract foreground made up of colours and shapes so typical of the area. A touch of mist and a sky suggesting the start of another great day for a hill walk will bring back memories for anyone familiar with this part of Scotland The foreground has been very deliberately painted in a loose style with lost and found shapes which can suggest boulders, craggy outcrops and variations in the ground cover. The viewer's own experience of the area will allow for a personal interpretation which can change with each viewing. The painting is framed under glass to protect it from damage and has a double Antique White mount and a simple dark stained frame.
