A recent weekend at York gave me some good ideas for paintings .The first thing that attracted me to this scene was the gap between the buildings which emphasised the interesting shapes of the roofs.The perspective was quite difficult but eventually started to take shape and I was very pleased with the outcome.
The sides are painted and the box canvas is 1 1/2 inches deep.
