Impressionist view of early morning sun rising over the sea. This work is encaustic beeswax on card, has heavy layers of wax, scraped back in parts to create very deep texture. The underlaying colours show through the upper layers and the whole work has touches of acrylic interference colour to enhance the shimmer of the sun streaming over the sky and the deep blues and greens of the sea. It is framed in a deep box type glazed frame, cream mount, with dark inner mount and a deep brown wooden hand waxed frame.
