Originals: framing and mounting

Most of our original artworks look fantastic without a frame, and are therefore sold unframed unless otherwise stated. The majority of customers prefer to hang the artworks without a frame. Some customers prefer to frame the artworks themselves.

If a particular artwork is framed, this will be stated on the artwork details page, and you will see the frame with the photo of the artwork.

Limited edition prints

A limited edition print is a print, usually handmade by the artist, of an original piece. These prints are of the highest quality. They are only ever produced in strictly limited numbers, usually around 100 - 300 prints. These prints will then usually be signed and numbered by the artist. This gives you a way of owning a very special piece of artwork, with a high level of exclusivity and collectability, but at a fraction of the price of the original.

Open edition prints

An open edition print is a print produced in an unlimited print run. These prints are usually not numbered or signed. Although not as exclusive or rare as limited edition prints, these prints offer a way of owning artwork at a very affordable price.

Originals: measurements

Every artwork is displayed with measurements in inches to show the exact size of the artwork. Please be aware that the small pictures ("thumbnails") of artworks shown in the gallery views and on artists' pages, may not accurately represent the size of the artworks relative to one another. To ensure you understand the size of the artwork, please check the artwork details page, and use the ruler.

Originals: delivery charges and times

Delivery charges (within the UK) are included in the price of the artwork. They are not added on afterwards. The price you see on the screen is the price you pay.

Artworks are sent direct from the artists' studio or supplying gallery. Therefore packaging may vary from artwork to artwork. If you purchase artworks from more than one different gallery or more than one different artist, they may be delivered to you in different packaging and on different dates.

Packaging is provided by the artist or gallery, and must meet our packaging standards which are very high.

Deliveries are made by selected top courier firms or if appropriate, first class Royal Mail postage.

Artists and galleries are contracted to deliver your artwork to you within 14 days. If for any reason there is likely to be a delay, you will be contacted by the artist or gallery.

Originals: VAT and hidden charges

VAT is included in the price of your artworks. The price you see on the screen is the price you pay. VAT-registered organisations will of course be able to reclaim the VAT on artworks. There are no hidden charges.

Invoicing

We automatically generate and send by email a full VAT invoice for every purchase.

Credit card security

We currently support three methods of payment by credit card - Worldpay, PayPal and telephone.

Worldpay is a payment processing provider, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Payments are made using 128-bit encryption over a secure connection.

PayPal is an eBay company, used by millions of people all over the world to process credit card payments. Many of our customers already have PayPal accounts, but you do not need an account to use PayPal.

If you prefer to use the telephone and speak to a real human being, we have some real human beings available in the office to take your call between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Ring 0870 7606 888.
