| "..the romantic, heroic associations with technology and its landscape, so prevalent in the past, may have eroded in recent times; a realisation of the significance of the moment perhaps?"
Robert Lewis's work has always been centred around "post human" concerns ...specifically, being reflective of the human condition with regards to its interaction with, and increasing dependance on, technology and a technological landscape. This preoccupation has taken on a new significance, however, following a recent illness and subsequent period of being "fixed" by the medical profession. This latest work shows this changed perspective and renewed purpose, demonstrating a strong aesthetic to reflect that newly reconditioned and refurbished personal state. |
