| I was first introduced to printmaking during my art foundation course at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1994, however it wasn't until studying for a BA in Education with Art at Goldsmiths College in London that I discovered screenprinting.
I graduated in 1999 and went on to teach at a primary school in Deptford, South East London - leaving after having my second child in 2006.
I am currently working on my art part-time alongside looking after my two young children - using the opportunity to develop my screenprinting skills and artistic style.
I take inspiration from many different sources - from light reflections to a piece of jewellery to the shape of a pear. When I find something that inspires me I work out how I can use shape, pattern and colour to create a screenprint.
More recently I have been looking at landscapes, using the techniques of blending and overlaying colours to produce dramatic effects. |
