 I am an artist based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I was born in Liverpool and studied politics, anthropology and philosophy at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. After university I lived in Holland and Italy for several years, developing my painting style. This was followed by trips to North and east Africa on painting expeditions. On my return to London in the early 1980s I managed a West End art gallery, organising exhibitions of 19th and 20th Century English and European art. My appreciation of the performing arts, of architecture and of the natural world inform my paintings; my understanding of the dynamics of contemporary painting is reflected in my style and use of colour. I have had successful solo exhibitions in London, Italy and Kent, UK.
