| I trained at Lincoln College College of Art as a photographer, worked for a period of time as a commercial photographer, and then, until my retirement last year, taught photography on a fine art photography degree course. During this time my practice, photographically, was mainly large format black and white, centered on still-life and landscape. Throughout my working life besides making photographs I have always painted and made drawings, albeit intermittently at times. Retirement gave me the opportunity to rent a studio and refine my painting skills, and my work at the moment is concerned with natural forms, especially poppies, and fictional landscape, executed through watercolour, pencil drawing and etching. |
