| A new life in Suffolk and a surprise gift of watercolour paints started me off on a totally new journey. With the support of a few very special people I Joined 'The Works' and was fortunate enough to have Alan Cox as my tutor who introduced me to the joys and frustrations of watercolour. He encouraged me to develop my own style, relax and enjoy.
My coral images have evolved from experimenting with different paints and papers to bring to life my diving memories - each one a cherished moment. With each image I am searching for what is just out of sight and I hope this is reflected in the finished work. It is with the same enthusiasm that I approach my 'boat and seashore' pictures - years of dinghy sailing have made me so aware of the gentleness and strength of the wind and waves and the colours of their mood. Boats - well I just fall in love with them. I love the clarity and translucence of watercolour and if I achieve this in my finished work I am 'over the moon'. |
