Artist David Kirk

As an interior design and decorating graduate my canvases are painted to be a part of your home or office ambience. Careful use of texture, mediums and subject matter create paintings which accent or complement your interior designs in your home or corporate setting.

As an interior designer many of my influences are architectural and organic spanning from the Modernism of the Bauhaus to the current new age buildings and structures of Frank Gehry and Norman Foster. My two dimensional influences are Picasso, Jackson Pollock and latterly Mary Todd Beam for her work in acrylics.

This mix of two and three dimensional influences has led to heavily textured canvases using that most luxurious of materials, acrylic gesso. I then over paint, mainly in acrylics, although any other media which is to hand in the studio gets pressed into service!
