 Brett Hudson’s paintings are inspired by the humour of people and their different environments.
He enjoys capturing a moment to create a bright light-hearted and busy scene. He is able to produce pictures which are true to their subjects in a quirky style – they tell a story, and each time you look at them you discover something new.
He uses a dip pen with black Indian ink to give a strong outline and then uses bright complementary watercolours as a wash, giving the picture a warm quality.
Brett has been selling his paintings for over ten years through a variety of ways: showing his work at several popular craft fairs, working on private commissions, demonstrating at numerous art societies throughout the south-east and south-west of England, and exhibiting in two galleries in Sussex and more recently in Barcelona, Spain.
When Brett is not creating his wonderful paintings he is also working successfully as a full time illustrator, mainly in children’s books and editorial. His clients have included Marks & Spencers, Heinemann, Collins and Random House.
